In this post I will describe two software; Audacity & Screencast-o-matic.
The first part is about Audacity software which is used for creating and editing audio files, it's free to download, easy to use, and I recommended using it. You can view this description from the video that I had created below using screencast-o-matic:
The second part is about screencast-o-matic:
Screencast-O-Matic is a screen capture software, enables you to record your PC screen then save it and share it with others on the software site or on YouTube.
Description of features:
- Online tool and no need to install the software.
- No need to create an account unless you want to publish it to screencast-o-matic cloud and its free.
- Publish to YouTube HD.
- Free hosting for your videos.
- Can record both screen and webcam or either one of them.
- Publish to MP4, AVI & FLV movie.

Ease and limitations of use of the platform:
- No need to install it, or to create an account, quick and easy recording.
- Easy to use by teachers and students or any other users.
In the free version of this software you can record up to 15 min and you don't have the option to edit your video for example to cut parts from it or to add captions, also you can not draw and zoom while recording. you need to upgrade to do that.
Cost:
It is free online software unless you want to upgrade to the Pro option where you can get many extra tools like no watermark when publishing.
Using Screencast-o-matic:
From this experience I found that Screencast is very easy to use, it goes with you in the process of recording step by step.
I havn't faced any troubles while recording, everything went smoothly.
Including metadata:
When you upload your movie to YouTube you can add title, tags, description and choose the category of your movie.
