In this post I will evaluate Canva, It is a new platform for me
and I want to benefit from this experience to learn more about it.
Description of features:
Canva is an online graphic design platform; it helps you to create graphic designs for web use or for printing. For social media like for Facebook, twitter, Tumbler, Instagram and Pinterest. Also you can use it for designing presentation, poster, for Blogging, ebooks, infographic and more. It provides free design tools and access to a library of images that you can use and offering additional paid designs.
Ease and limitations of use of the platform:
You need to sign up to get free account and that is quick and easy step, after that you will have to choose your usage, is it for work, personal or education so they can provide you with suitable designs. I choose education, and then it showed me a 23 sec guide for using Canva. You need only to search for images in their library, add your text and then publish you design. It is also available as an app in App Store. It is very easy to use and great for quick amazing designs, but with no animation option for presentations and with one limitation I found is that most of the images are not free, all images costs 1$ otherwise it is a great and offers many choices.
Cost:
It is free online tool, you will have only to pay for stock images.
Using Canva:
After this experience I would definitely use canva again, because I found that you can make quick and easy beautiful designs and images, you don’t need to spend long time on Photoshop for creating and editing.
I created presentation that contains three slides about open access and here is the link:
To create presentations, Canva offers some free beautiful designs and backgrounds that you can edit, choose the layout, add your text and choose from a variety of attractive fonts, type in Arabic language, add images, shapes, chart, icons, charts and illustrations. You can add many slides as you like, once you are done you can download your presentation to your computer and saves them as pictures (jpg or png) & PDF. You can also share your presentation on Facebook, Twitter and through email. You can make your design for public.
I also created blog title for my blog:
Including metadata:
You can add your description, keywords and metadata for the content that you created while sharing it to social media or while blogging, also you can choose to make it public and add your description in the comment box.
